A Splash-tacular Launch for Active Lambeth Swim School!
We are thrilled to recap the successful revamp of Active Lambeth Swim School! Brixton Recreation Centre was magically transformed into an aquatic wonderland ready to welcome families and celebrate our new partnership with the Swimming Teachers’ Association (STA), National Governing Body for Swimming.
Active Lambeth’s Swim Schools new programme and partnership with the STA aims to provide a progressive, safe and enjoyable learning experience whilst teaching a crucial life skill to all participants.
Our dedicated team of swim instructors welcomed attendees and swim leads were on hand to answer questions and emphasise the importance of water safety. Both adults and children were involved in launching our the new programme, with free swim sessions, information and merchandise up for grabs.
Special guest Olympic swimmer Keri-Anne Payne inspired all and shared her expertise with swimmers during free swim sessions.
Cllr Donatus Anyanwu, Cabinet Member for Stronger Communities, Leisure and Sport attended the launch and commented: “It’s great to see such positive collaboration and efforts to enhance swimming education within the community. One of the most heart-warming aspects of the event was the sense of community that blossomed. Parents, children, and instructors alike bonded over their shared love for swimming. This event served not only as a celebration of our swim school but also as gathering of like-minded individuals passionate about water wellness.
Our Swim School launch was an overwhelming success, we are truly grateful for the support we received from our community. We are excited to embark on this aquatic journey together!
