FAQs

How do I transfer over from GLL to Active Lambeth?

If you were an active GLL member on the 31st March 2023 your membership profile has already been transferred over and you don’t need to do anything further. If your profile was not transferred over correctly and you need help getting reactivated, please get in touch and email us at: ActiveLambeth@lambeth.gov.uk

How do I apply for an Active Lambeth membership?

To apply for an Active Lambeth membership please download our app, apply online or head to one of our centres to chat with our friendly team.

When will I receive my new membership card?

Please visit one of our Active Lambeth centres to pick up your new membership card. You can also access your membership card via the Active Lambeth App.

Can I use my Active Lambeth membership outside of Lambeth?

No. If you have a nationwide membership with GLL, you can choose to transfer to an ‘All Centres’ membership in Lambeth, which will enable you to continue using all the Active Lambeth leisure centres in the borough.

Can I apply for a single centre membership?

Yes. Please visit our membership page for more information.

Are there discounts for those living in the borough?

Yes, we’d recommend getting a Lambeth Active Pay and Play concessionary membership. Active Lambeth Pay and Play Adult membership gives up to 45% discount off standard leisure centre prices, plus 7-day advance for online and phone bookings.

How do I apply for concessionary and discounted rates?

We have a wide range of concessionary and discounted memberships which you can find Memberships page. When you take out a concessionary or discounted membership you will be asked to upload proof of eligibility. Accepted forms of ID are listed (they vary according to the membership applied for), and once uploaded they are checked by centre staff. Once approved, your concessionary or discounted membership will be active. If you are an existing concessionary member, please make sure your proof of eligibility has been uploaded to the portal, and approved.

Are there concessionary rates for seniors?

Yes! Current concessions such as the 15% discount on all gym and swim classes for those aged over 60 will continue to apply.
We will devise and create new low-cost opportunities such as “give it a go” tailored activity programmes. If you are aged over 66 you can also apply for a concessionary Active Pay and Play membership card.

Will there be a student concession?

Active Lambeth offers a pay as you play card called the Active Pay and Play Leisure Card, which provides the same discounts and benefits as the current GLL Pay and Play membership card and is available to those aged 5 to 21 (24 if in higher education) or are looked after by us or leaving our care. It’s a great scheme so don’t miss out!

What are the concessionary rates for those with a disability?

We are introducing new Active Health concessions such as weekly activities for adults with disabilities (seen and unseen).

How do I make a booking for a court hire?

Please visit our Facilities page to make a court booking.

When will the West Norwood swimming pool re-open to the public?

The Leisure Centre is undergoing refurbishment and maintenance. We extend our apologies and expect the refurbishments to be completed by July 2023.

Customers are asked to contact staff at the West Norwood Leisure Centre if they require access to alternative provisions or appropriate adjustments made to membership. Where possible we have planned for swimming lessons to be held at alternative locations until the pool at West Norwood is reopened.

Our closest pool during this temporary closure will be Streatham Ice and Leisure Centre or Brixton Recreation Centre. There are also pool facilities at Clapham Leisure Centre.

Will there be changes to my child’s swimming programme?

No! The swim school will operate as usual with classes at the same time and in most instances using the same swim teachers. There will be minor changes to the syllabus and the programme will include the award of certificates and badges as before to mark progress through the stages.

What new classes are available at Active Lambeth?

Yes! We will be introducing exciting new classes over the summer. We will start off with the same timetable as we transition and progress the service and will roll out new classes when this has been embedded. We welcome any suggestions as to what classes you’d be interested in.
