The Black Men’s Consortium Mental Health Awareness Week Performance Event

May marks Mental Health Awareness Week at Active Lambeth

May marks Mental Health Awareness Week at Active Lambeth. Get involved with a week of fun, free activities dedicated to mental well-being. Each of our Active Lambeth leisure centres will run classes, events and workshops focusing on our key themes of mental health for 2024, movement and mindfulness.

We’re lucky enough to host a FREE performance from The Black Men’s Consortium. The Black Men’s Consortium is a community-led exploration arts and health project where Black and Brown men of African Descent meet weekly to experience positive and meaningful interactions and discuss issues that matter to them.

Join us on Sunday 19 May 2024, from 6pm at Brixton Recreation Centres 3G Pitch for an unforgettable performance.

With a fantastic cast of performers, this interactive performance takes you into dimensions you have never seen, forcing you to consider the sometimes uneasy question of “What is needed to improve the lives of Black men in the UK?”

Through opportunities to express, speak, learn and empower themselves creatively by using and mixing politics with art to make performances rooted in the group members’ experiences.

Reserve your seat today.

The group works together every Monday evening in Brixton 6.00pm – 9.00pm at Mosaic Clubhouse 65 Effra Road Brixton SW2 1BZ to creatively cement long-term relationships which lead to shared activities.
