As part of our Easter programme, Carol Cross (our fantastic fitness class instructor) and I teamed up to run a Bingo Bonanza for the Thursday Active Seniors group at Brixton Recreation Centre.
Even though some of our regulars had already started their Easter celebrations, we still had a great turnout – and even better vibes! Everyone got stuck into the bingo, and there was a real buzz in the room. We even had time for a little dancing at the end, which was a lovely way to wrap things up.
There wasn’t just one winner either – many of our seniors went home with prizes, including the ever-popular Active Lambeth Goody Bags. But beyond the prizes, what really stood out was how much fun everyone had. It was a great opportunity for people to catch up, have a laugh, and make some new memories together.
To top it all off, we ended the event with a relaxed and friendly “bring & share” lunch, which really brought everyone together and added to the feel-good atmosphere of the day.
All in all, it was a fantastic event, and it just goes to show how valuable these kinds of activities are for our senior community. I’m already looking forward to planning the next one – because when it comes to events like this, we’re all winners.
