Active Lambeth is proud to support National Fitness Day 2024. National Fitness Day will take place on Wednesday 18 September and is a chance to highlight the role physical activity plays across the UK, raising awareness of its importance and leading us to live healthy lifestyles.
Active Lambeth will be taking part in National Fitness Day, look out for special classes, competitions, prizes and more across our leisure centres.

Brixton Recreation Centre
Join us for an exciting celebration of National Fitness Day as we relaunch our brand-new group exercise timetable. Head to the Energy Zone for two massive fitness classes with a live DJ to keep the energy high. Kick-off with an exhilarating Body conditioning session, followed by a fun-filled HIIT class. Both classes are open to 50 participants, so don’t miss your chance to be part of the action.
Body Conditioning: 6pm to 7pm
HIIT: 7pm to 7:45pm
Clapham Leisure Centre
Kickstart your morning with a special Strength and Conditioning class For some fun on the courts, join us for Badminton or Pickleball. Enjoy our happy hour swim, or take advantage of happy hour gym access.
Don’t forget to test your speed and endurance at our assault bike competition at reception—the fastest time wins a prize.
Plus, we’re offering free blood pressure checks throughout the day.
Happy hour swim: 2pm to 3pm and 4pm to 5pm
Happy hour gym: 10am to 11am, 2pm to 3pm and 8pm to 9pm
Free blood pressure checks: All day
Strength and Conditioning class: 8am to 8:50am
Badminton: 2pm to 3pm (2 courts)
Pickleball: 3pm to 4pm (1 court)
Assault bike competition: All day at reception (fastest time wins a prize)
Streatham Ice and Leisure Centre
Streatham Ice and Leisure have an exciting schedule packed with fitness classes, challenges and taster sessions suitable for all abilities.
Circuit Classes:Â 9am to 9:40am and 6:pm – 6:40pm
Fitness Challenges: 10am to 11:30am
Organised as a series of fitness stations where participants rotate through exercises like burpees, squats, push-ups, and jumping jacks. These can be time-based or involve repetitions.
Taster sessions in Sports Hall: 12pm to 4pm
Involving Zumba, HITT, LBT, full body Stretching/light Mobility for Seniors, Core Fitness, Aerobics, meditation and relaxation.
Cycling Marathons: Spin Studio 1pm to 2pm
Either on stationary bikes or outdoor cycling events, these involve long-distance cycling challenges to promote cardiovascular fitness.
Herne Hill Lifestyle Centre
Join us at Herne Hill Lifestyle Centre from 8:00am to 8:00pm for free drop-in taster sessions and guided tours. Explore our state-of-the-art facilities and experience what we have to offer with complimentary sessions throughout the day.
Whether you’re new to the centre or looking to try something new, this is the perfect opportunity to get a look at everything we offer.

Flaxman Sports Centre
