We’re happy to share some incredible news: Active Lambeth has been awarded Swim Academy of the Year at the 2025 Aquatic Excellence Awards, hosted by the Swimming Teachers’ Association (STA).
This award is a huge honour and reflects the dedication of our entire swim academy team, the passion of our teachers, and the commitment of our swimmers. It recognises our mission to deliver inclusive, high-quality swimming lessons that empower people of all ages to learn one of life’s most important skills.
Our Area Swim School Lead, Katrina Davy, accepted the award on behalf of Active Lambeth. Katrina shared: “We’re so proud of this recognition. It’s a reflection of the hard work our team puts in every day to create a safe, welcoming space for swimmers to grow. We believe swimming should be accessible to everyone, and this award shows we’re making that vision a reality.”
Water safety is a critical life skill. Our goal is to make swimming accessible and inclusive helping reduce risk, encourage active lifestyles, and empower individuals to feel safe and confident around water
For many families in Lambeth, our swimming programmes are a first step toward healthier lifestyles and stronger community ties. Parents bond with their babies during early swim sessions, children build friendships and self-esteem as they progress through levels, and adults overcome fears and rediscover the joy of movement.
A New Chapter – Introducing Active Lambeth Swimming Academy
With all the exciting developments taking place, we’re proud to announce that our swim school will now be known as Active Lambeth Swimming Academy.
This name change reflects the growing programs Active Lambeth is offering, along with our commitment to serving all of Lambeth’s communities. Our goal is to create a single, inclusive academy for every swimmer, from first splashes to squad training.
Under our new name, we will continue to deliver the same friendly, professional, and high-quality swimming lessons, now with even more opportunities across the borough.
What’s Next? Even Better Swimming for Everyone
We never stop improving. Right now, we’re working on a brand-new swimming programme that makes it easier for learners and their families to track progress and celebrate milestones. The new programme will support swimmers at every stage, from first splashes to advanced techniques, and includes specialist offerings such as Junior Lifeguard training and family-inclusive sessions.
