Stockwell, Skate Park
Opened in 1978 and designed by Lorne Edwards, known as the “grandfather of British skateboarding”
The skatepark is a firm favourite amongst BMXers, Skateboarders, roller-skaters and all other wheeled euhtusiast, it’s a space they love to call home.
Re-opened in July 2022 – Lambeth council & the friends of Stockwell Skatepark spent 500,000 to refurbish the Skatepark. The redesign retained much of the original layout while adding new features and a red surface reminiscent of the 1990s
In 2023, the crown prince and crown princess of Norway visited the skatepark, highlighting its Nordic – inspired design and its role in promoting mental health and community well-being.
