Ice Skating at Active Lambeth
We have public sessions available for children and adults and you can learn to skate with one of our nationally acclaimed coaches or just skate for fun. All sessions run for 60 minutes and we advise that all tickets are pre-booked online.
You can also learn to skate with our National Ice Skating Association (NISA) programme* and book the ice-rink for birthday parties.
Sessions for everyone:
Public Ice Access for all skaters, ages and ability. These sessions are run all throughout the day, 7 days a week.
Sessions for experienced skaters
Patch Ice (level 5+ training) Skaters above ice skating level 5, in private lessons with coaches, this is the ice that coaches pay a licence fee to coach on

Skate Hire
You can bring your own ice skates or hire from us. Skate hire is available from child size 7 to an adult size 15. We also have penguin skating aids for the little ones (under 1.2m) that can help them glide safely along. For bigger kids (over 1.2m) we have snowmen aids available for hire. During busy periods you may find there is a wait for these icy helpers as they can be very popular.
What to wear
Trousers must be worn and we recommend long-sleeved clothing, padded jackets and gloves. These not only keep you warm but help break your fall and protect your hands from the ice and passing skates.
Important information:
- Children under the age of 8 must be accompanied by a skating adult.
- Carers for registered disabled users can skate for free (proof will be needed to be eligible).
Clubs for experienced skaters
am Ice and Leisure Centre is home to various Ice clubs which can be attended when you are a competent skater or have completed NISA Skate UK levels 1-8.
Ice Dance Club
The Ice Dance Club is open to members aged 16 and over and meets weekly. You need a reasonable level of skating ability, for example you have taken part in the group lessons and have attained Skate UK Level 8.
If you are unsure if Ice Dance is for you, join a taster session where club members can help you through the moves.

Figure Skating Club
The figure skating club meets weekly and is open to skaters who have completed up to Skate UK Level 8 and may be working on Skate Star Levels. For more details please contact streathamfigureclub@gmail.com before booking.
Training Accreditations
Training Ice is private tuition those wishing to have a 1-2-1 training session with one of our registered Streatham coaches.
Training is for everyone, though it is recommended that you hold a level 5 or above to have 121 tuition based on (NISA) ice skills guidelines. If you are set on having coaching at a lower level, our coaches are able to teach abilities and ages. Have a chat with the coaches to find out more.
Private lessons start from £15 per 15 minute lesson. In order to book, please contact the coaches directly via the Ice Coach section.
Streatham Ice Rink and Coaches operate using the National Ice Skating Association (NISA) Structure and British Ice Skating (BIS) Skate UK Level 1-8
